Saint Patrick’s Day at Casvi Tres Cantos

St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun

At Casvi International American School in Tres Cantos, every class turned up in green for this fun celebration. Our students have tried to catch an Irish leprechaun using very well-crafted traps. Did they manage to catch it?

Leprechauns, watch out because we're hunting you!

The kindergarteners have been making special hats for these famous leprechauns, filled with everything they love to see: gold and lots of green to try to catch one of them. They’ve made them with colorful traps, filled with gold, rainbows, and shiny lures, just the things these mischievous goblins love most! Plus, they’re shaped like hats so that when the leprechauns put them on, they fall right into the hole the kids have devised.

They have used cardstock, rolls of paper, many colors, and a fast use of their imagination. Each trap has its own strategy to lure a leprechaun: glitter, confetti, shades of gold, rainbows… Will they have fallen for them?

The green chaos took hold of the classes

Today, on St. Patrick’s Day, the children came to school eager to see the trapped leprechauns… But these tiny creatures have the upper hand: they’ve been outwitting these kinds of traps for years, and that’s exactly what they did at Casvi International American School Tres Cantos: they turned the classroom upside down, with chairs moved around, books out of place…

This fun tradition is an example of the cultural exchange that we experience every day, giving them the opportunity to learn more about traditions from other countries in a fun way.

But then… Did they see the leprechauns?

This year we haven’t been able to see anyone, but we will try again next school year. For now, we’ll stick with the gold coin… filled with chocolate!
