For International Education Day, we want to highlight the diversity and multiculturalism of our school of which we are very proud and which defines Casvi International American School. To this end, we share a video that reflects the cultural richness of the center, which is home to more than 30 nationalities, with this emotional video in which students from different grades tell us what they value most about the school.
But first, why is International Education Day celebrated?
Why do we celebrate International Education Day?
International Education Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of education worldwide and to promote access to inclusive, equitable and quality education. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed January 24 as International Education Day in 2018, recognizing that education is a fundamental human right and essential for sustainable development.
Education plays a crucial role in empowering people, reducing poverty, promoting gender equality, fostering peace and stability, and boosting economic growth. By dedicating a specific day to education, the international community seeks to raise awareness of the importance of investing in strong education systems and ensuring quality educational opportunities.
The commemoration of this day is a reminder that education is a key driver for sustainable development and building a more just and equitable world. It also highlights the need to address persistent challenges in education and work towards achieving the education-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
