International Baccalaureate Benefits

Alumnas en clase. Ventajas Bachillerato Internacional

The International Baccalaureate is an educational method for students between the ages of 3 and 18. This methodology is designed to stimulate students to be able to think critically and independently and to inquire logically and meaningfully. It aims to train citizens who can face current and future challenges in an increasingly globalized and changing society.

In our center, we implement this methodology through the three IB programs (PYP, MYP, and DP). Within these programs, the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Emotional Intelligence, and Early Stimulation are integrated.

The continuum of IB programs

At Casvi International American School we have the continuum of the three IB programs (PYP, MYP and DP). This continuum is designed to train students to be well-rounded individuals who are able to face today’s challenges with an open mind.

The continuum of IB programs provides students with an international education to achieve their academic and personal goals. They also acquire a series of values, skills, multiple competencies and content that allow them to develop.

Main advantages of the International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate methodology is a leap in quality for the students who receive it. It adds a plus to the content by means of both group and individual work that aims to work, reason and draw its own conclusions through continuous learning. Students in IB schools receive an education through which:

-Critical thinking is encouraged.

-They are able to relate to anyone in the world.

-They are more aware of cultural differences

-They have access to any university in the world.

-They direct their learning.

International Baccalaureate and American Curriculum

At Casvi International American School, we combine the International Baccalaureate methodology with the American curriculum. This offers an optimal model for students because it provides them with a unique and flexible environment in which to develop the skills necessary to excel in any subject and develop their talents and potential.

IB teacher skills

The International Baccalaureate methodology requires teachers at Casvi International American School to possess certain competencies and skills: they must be internationally minded and open-minded and develop their global competence on a daily basis.

The characteristics that an IB teacher should have are:

  • Continuous learning attitude.
  • Knowledge of the teaching-learning process, its content area and the world.
  • Open-mindedness.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Solidarity and understanding.
  • Creativity in the teaching process.

Fostering talent

Promoting IB talent is something we work on every day at our school. For us, it is essential to develop the creativity of our students. We do this thanks to the IB methodology through which students go beyond the basic content.

But at Casvi International American School, we also encourage this talent through sports, art and music. According to the International Baccalaureate Organization, theoretical and practical learning in different sports and artistic disciplines is fundamental for the development of students.
