Tradition & Special moments: this is Christmas at Casvi!

Countdown to saying goodbye to one of the most atypical years of our lives. If we have a look back, 2020 did not start off as just another year. We all knew it would be a different year. At the beginning of the year, the Covid-19 pandemic was coming like no one could imagine. By mid-March, the whole world was struggling at home. We all started 2020 with great uncertainty. We continue to resist, but now we see ourselves ending the year with hope. It is not by chance that ‘hope’ has been one of the most used words during 2020. In the middle of virus, pandemic, and confinement, the whole world continued to keep hope alive.

Since its beginnings, Casvi International American School has known how to adapt to a multitude of changes. Dealing with a global pandemic has been one of them. A great challenge that arrived last March 11, 2020 to stay, and that we knew how to face with an excellent management, communication and collaborative work. Thanks to the online classes and an excellent digitalization, we continue developing our only goal: to give the best possible education to our students.

The arrival of Christmas is for all of us the moment when we say goodbye to a hard and difficult year, and we start a year full of illusion and desire. But, without a doubt, this Christmas won’t be the same as any other we can remember. We are aware that before this Christmas there have been many, and very special ones. After this one, will come many, many more of them. In Casvi International American School we are aware of this idea, so this year, despite everything, we did not want to lose the illusion of Christmas.

Without a doubt, this Christmas will be different. We will not be able to travel, we will not be able to hug, we will not be able to meet our family or friends. It’s time to be responsible. But we can remember, so that we have very present those moments, traditions or celebrations that made this time a special period. This year, we will continue to make Christmas as a unique moment for everyone by remembering what has united us for so many years: our family, friends, and traditions.

As a great family, at Casvi we give huge importance to Christmas. This year, each person in our educational community tells us about their experiences, traditions, and Christmas stories, to remind us that we will soon be celebrating again.

At Casvi International American School we are sure that we will be able to celebrate these important dates again as we did in previous years. But in the meantime, we remember our best moments. Those that made our Christmas a special time of year. Those who marked traditions and brought us together even more. Each one has his own. Each person in our educational community tells us about their experiences, traditions and Christmas stories, to remind us that we will soon be celebrating again.

As the great family that we are, at Casvi International American School we give great importance to Christmas. We make it visible with our traditions and wide and varied celebrations. As an international school with an American curriculum, we combine the most American traditions with the Spanish feeling for this holiday. For this reason, during this time of year we are invaded by the Christmas spirit and we begin to decorate every corner of our facilities in a very special way.

Each person who forms our educational community has a tradition, a moment or a story that makes their Christmas something magical. Our Grade 2 tutor, Mr. Bradley, as an American teacher, tells us that for him “a magic moment at this time of year is when we put up the Christmas tree as a family”. Our Head of School, Ms. Virginia Caballero, affirms that a tradition that makes Christmas more special is the arrival of the Advent Calendar that her mother gives her every year. Thus, each member of our community makes the traditional, a special moment of Christmas.

We wish you a Merry Christmas!
