At Casvi International American School we encourage our students to be reflective, thinkers and knowledgeable. In 7th Grade, they have been working on an Interdisciplinary Unit of inquiry in Math and English to celebrate the 50 years of man on the moon.
First of all, they welcomed Gonzalo Gimeno Benito-Sendin, Airbus Industrial Manager, who talked about how space exploration has advanced.
They got familiar with concepts like velocity, distance, and time needed to get to Mars, in order to reinforce their mathematical skills. During this unit, they raised some questions related to the future of the space exploration, like “Should the money invested in exploration be invested in something here on Earth instead?” “Will we are able to live in Space stations someday?”.
Finally, to put everything they learned into practice, they created an argumentative essay about the expeditions to Mars.
