After the expected arrival of Santa Claus, the Three Kings came, and with them the end of the long awaited and atypical Christmas. A few weeks ago we welcomed a new year full of hope and resolutions to be fulfilled. Casvi International American School was preparing to receive its students in its best clothes. However, we all knew that 2021 was not going to be another year. We all knew that 2021 was coming stronger than ever. This is how we were able to experience the arrival of Filomena, a storm that we all foresaw, but none of us believed in her brutal strength.
From one moment to the next, Spain was dyed white. The forecast worsened hour by hour and the snowfall continued with force. Last Saturday, January 16, Madrid woke up completely paralyzed. Pedestrians walked the streets as they were unable to move their vehicles. During the day thousands of people went out to enjoy the unusual scenery of the Spanish capital. Social media channels broadcast images of people skiing, snowboarding, dogsledding, snowballing or building igloos in the center of the city.
It seemed that the nerves, excitement and desire to start classes were going to have to wait, since the educational centers also stopped. However, once again Casvi International American School was able to adapt and anticipate the events.
Only in a few centers, thanks to the different systems of administrative management, communication and collaborative work that they had, and the technological skills that both students and teachers had, their students continued to give their classes, in this case online, from the first day of classes and respecting the same schedules of each of the subjects.
In the case of Casvi International American School, after the experience we had to face in the pandemic, and whatever the scenario in which the class must be given, teachers and students are prepared to face any of these ways of receiving classes with guarantees.
Digitalization allows us to continue innovating and improving in methodological issues. We were pioneers in introducing new tools that favor the acquisition of knowledge and skills of our students: IPad, digital boards, digital books, applied robotics, PTR department (Programming, Technology and Robotics), etc. And that is what we will continue to do with a single goal, to give the best possible education to students, no matter what.
Now, in Casvi we have everything ready to welcome our students. During these days our maintenance team has not stopped working in order to have our facilities ready to receive the students in the best conditions.
