Although the school is finished, our staff went on a field trip to La Real Fábrica de Cristales in La Granja de San Ildefonso, Segovia; in order to reinforce an atmosphere of community within the Casvi International American School family.
Our teachers and staff attended a talk in the brightly Library about the story of the building and the different techniques around the world to make unique crystal objects.
They even could visit the facilities and get to know closely the work of the artisans in their atelier.
Some of them, as our School Principal, Virginia Caballero Acosta, were volunteers to create a crystal bottle with the blowing technique.
The trip finished with a practical workshop…
and an interesting visit to the museum. Where they found out a Stanislav Libenský & Jaroslava Brychtová piece, considered as the most outstanding Czech glasswork contemporary artists.
In the end, the whole Casvi family enjoyed the typical food of Segovia, the juicy “cochinillo”.
At Casvi International American School we do believe that a positive school climate, real cohesiveness, teacher collaboration and motivation have a great impact on student approach to learning and outcomes.
We are already prepared for September!
